Describe a time when you received a call from a stranger in a public place.
You should say:
When you received it
What you were doing then
What the call was about
And explain how you felt about this call
Currently, there are not too many people who give me phone calls. Most of my friends keep in touch with me through Wechat. But I still remember a time when I got a call from a stranger in a public place.
Last month, if my memory serves me right, I was shopping in the supermarket across my campus. While I was in the line waiting for my turn to pay the bill, my phone rang. It was a strange number from another city, so I put on my earphones because it was quite noisy around, and answered the phone.
It was a lady at the other end. The first introduced herself as an estate agent. Then she asked if I had any interest in a new property in her city. Well, I had no interest in what she was describing at all. But in order to show my politeness, I didn’t interrupt her. After she finished, I said no thanks.
Speaking of my feelings about the call, when I received a call from a stranger, I tended to be curious about the matter, so I didn’t want to miss any calls. I didn’t know how the agent got my nubmer, but come on, a house, for me to buy? That’s ridiculous! I mean, it’s not because the house wasn’t in a good location or anything, but simply because I couldn’t afford it. It’s way beyond my budget.
So, that’s the call from a stranger.
